Puppy S.T.A.R. Classes

Start Monday, February 1^st, 7:15 p.m.!

We are so excited to be offering an innovative, exciting new program for puppies and adolescents from 8 weeks to 10 months of age.

Puppy S.T.A.R. is a program started by the AKC to reward owners and their puppies. S.T.A.R. stands for “Socialization, Training, Activities and Responsibility".

And we're doing even more - our program includes both on-leash and off-leash training, for the control and responsiveness off-leash we know our students want!

Puppy S.T.A.R. is:

Socialization - introduces your puppy to a wide variety of places, people, things, activites, and other dogs and puppies. It has been well-demonstrated that socialization as a puppy is critical for the mental and emotional health of the adult dog.
Training - includes teaching a broad range of the behaviors our students have told us they want most. Not just the polite behaviors of walking on a loose leash, sit, lie down, stay, and relax, we also include polite greeting, retrieve and willing give you object from your puppy's mouth, and come when called away from distractions. And our training is done both on-leash and of-leash, because we know that's what you want most!
Activities - to make your dog a participating member of your household, and learn about a wide-variety of fun things you can train your dog for, and enjoy together.
Responsibility - We know our students are responsible dog owners, and the Puppy S.T.A.R. program rewards you for it! Our program includes all that, and MORE! Our Puppy S.T.A.R. program is 8 weeks of focused training -- focused on the learning and issues of puppies and adolescents. We provide the firm foundation and behaivors that we know you want your puppy to have.

We offer two classes - one for young puppies, and one for puppies and adolescents up to 10 months of age at the start of class. Whichever you bring your puppy to, you'll love Puppy S.T.A.R. In either class, you'll receive a Training Manual to help your practice at home, a clicker, treats, 8 weeks of outstanding training, a Certificate of Graduation, and an All Dogs Gym bandanna. After graduating, your puppy qualifies for a Medalion and Certificate from the AKC.

Can't get into class right away? We also offer Puppy Pre-School - a drop-in class for socialization while you're waiting for your Puppy S.T.A.R. class to start.
