Canine Good Citizen

Is your dog a "Canine Good Citizen"?
We think so too! To demonstrate and reward your dog's basic good manners at home and in the community, and your responsible pet ownership, the American Kennel Club (AKC) started the CGC certification program in 1989.

All Dogs and owners who pass the CGC test receive a certificate from the American Kennel Club and are automatically recorded in the AKC's Canine Good Citizen Archive.

Certify your dog as a Canine Good Citizen! Graduation from this 5-week program includes taking the American Kennel Club CGC "test". Successful graduation includes an AKC Certificate as Canine Good Citizen - for both purebred and mixed breed dogs. Many Therapy Dog organizations require CGC certification for acceptance into their programs for visiting nursing homes and hospitals. Prerequisite - Level 1.

You don't have to take the class to get a CGC certificate. Our testing program is open to all - purebred and mixed, whether you take our classes or not. See our Schedule for upcoming classes and tests, or for more information, email or call (603) 669-4644 or 800 872-4669.
